Traditional Therapy and/or Transition Assistance for You & Your Student During CRUCIAL EDUCATIONAL TIMES

In times of uncertainty such as these, transitions can be more fragile and developing a plan of action is more important than ever. Challenges of mental health disorders may be impacting your family and your student's schooling. Is therapy needed? Will the school pick up on it? Your students needs may not be getting met in the public schools or in college! Your student may need an accommodation plan to level the playing field. Students already in college may need more and continued support. Linda can take some of the anxiety out of  the equation via telehealth as needed. Linda is currently licensed in NC , MI and NJ.

Linda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and previous Clinical Educator in North Carolina. She provides therapy and assistance for challenges related to ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities, ASD, Anxiety... Students that may also have educational challenges. Does your student need accommodations due to their disability in order to level the playing field? Linda serves as a consultant to assess and support students that need these services. She also provides therapeutic support to those students in transition. Transitions from private/home schooling to public education, and high school to post secondary education. Traditional therapy is one option via telehealth or by serving as a Transition Concierge developing an  individualized plan including therapeutic case-management, skills training, progress monitoring, resource gathering and parental support and guidance. Students with mental health disorders and/or learning disabilities often need special assistance in general and  especially  to post-secondary education. The transition can be brief, over a years time or throughout college to provide support. Oftentimes, the parent needs the assistance! Either way, she only accepts a limited number of clients in order to work more exclusively with your family.  Linda will give you her utmost attention, expertise and caring compassion, that you and your student need and deserve.

  • Serve as case manager communicating needs to professors, parents, outside providers

  • Updated 504 Plans or IEPs

  • Apply for Special Needs Transition Concierge

  • **APRIL                 Notification of college         acceptances 

  • Schedule meetings with SNTC if accepted

  • Family interview

  • MAY 1st- choose a college by this national response date

  • MAY-JULY

  • Prepare for meeting at Disability Services Office and be able to articulate needs

  • Apply at the DSO office

  • Student must schedule meeting

  • AUGUST-New Student Orientation is scheduled to begin with move-in typically the end of August. Time to choose classes usually between orientation or a few days before school starts.

  • SCHOOL YEAR - Consult with SNTC as needed

  • 3 Quarters of 10 weeks each:  Fall, Winter, Spring - Consider weekly meetings for 

  • Organization and executive functioning skills

  •  Therapeutic support

  • Stress-mgmt

  • **MIDTERMS -typically starting around the 4th week of class

  • **FINALS- 11th week after quarter is done

  • ** Reserve  YOUR time on Linda’s schedule
